Let’s Talk Boundaries
I love boundaries.
But, for years I had no idea what a boundary was. I had no idea where I ended and another began. I didn't know my needs or what felt good for me well enough to recognize what didn't. There was no line to draw because I hadn't yet found myself on the other side of it. I would bet that I rarely felt my feet on the ground back then.
As I grew into myself, my sensuality, my sense of worth, power and more than anything knowing my needs and desire - everything changed. Once I was grounded in all of this I didn't only understand what boundaries meant for me but I also was able to communicate them with grace. What surprised me most was that boundaries started to feel natural, easeful even.
About 10 years ago I went deep into boundary work on purpose. It's not something that just magically manifests without your active attention. Most people think boundaries are about saying "no" but going about it from that angle never worked for me. It gave me the ick and didn't move the needle. What I have learned is that you have to start with yes, with your yes.
Boundary work is really about strengthening your sense of self and self worth. It’s about knowing who you are and honoring yourself. It’s not really about saying no.
If you’re unclear on your values, wants and needs you aren’t able to implement them. Poor boundaries are usually just a result of being out of touch with yourself while healthy boundaries are a natural expression of you in complete alignment with your truth.
This is why before we even talk about the word “no” in The Way of Wild Wisdom we spend over a month learning about your yes.
Once you're grounded in your yes, the no's that need to come in your life express themselves naturally. I want you to feel easeful when approaching boundary work because most of the time it’s approached with fear. When you start with what feels good it becomes the anchor and foundation for everything else.
We work with Rose during the second month of The Way of Wild wisdom after we’ve worked with Lavender for a month just listening to ourselves, our intuition and getting to know our truth in this moment more deeply. This sets as easeful, grounded tone when we get into boundary work with Rose.
Women are not rewarded for having needs, for having limits or for saying no. Women are not rewarded for choosing themselves over others and not appeasing the public. This societal programming and repression has cut you off from your needs and desires.
Rose’s superpower is bringing your desire back online. After activating your inner knowing during our first month with Lavender in The Way of Wild Wisdom we dive into feeling with the body. Rose teaches you how to enjoy your body, trust your body, own your no, take your power back and become boundaried in the name of your own health.
